The Launch Day
Our event will be held at La Pérgola del Mediterráneo, one of Málaga’s most iconic waterfront restaurants, perfectly positioned on the Paseo de la Farola at Muelle Uno, right beside the harbour. Owned by Hollywood actor Antonio Banderas, the venue has a beautiful semi-enclosed terrace overlooking the water and is the perfect backdrop for our EIT Water Community Launch.
Mayoral Reception
EIT Water Members and VIPs are invited to a Mayoral Reception at Mirror Hall (Salón de los Espejos), Málaga Town Hall on the evening before the launch. It is an exclusive opportunity for high-level networking with fellow members and leaders in the regional water community.
If you plan to attend, please allow for an additional night in Málaga.
Getting to Málaga
Málaga is well connected to destinations across Europe through Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport and Málaga María Zambrano railway station.
From Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport
A taxi is the simplest option and takes approximately 20 to 25 minutes, depending on traffic. Alternatively, take the C1 Cercanías train from the airport to Málaga Centro-Alameda, then continue by taxi, bus or on foot to the venue. Allow approximately 35 to 45 minutes in total for public transport.
From Málaga María Zambrano railway station
The venue is approximately 10 to 15 minutes by taxi. Public transport is also available, or you can walk through the city centre and along the waterfront in approximately 35 to 40 minutes.
On foot from central Málaga
If you are staying in the historic centre or around the port, La Pérgola is easily accessible on foot.

- Event access: approximately a 30-minute walk from the venue, and 10 minutes from the historic city centre and the Calle Larios district.
- Airport proximity: roughly 12 km from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP), easily reachable by taxi, rideshare or local bus.
Preferential rates are €189 per room, per night for a single and €199 for a double, breakfast included. All registered guests will receive a secure link to access this preferred rate in the confirmation email. The week of the event is a busy period in Málaga, so we recommend booking early.
